MCC MNC Lookup
Search by MCC, MNC, country name or carrier name to find the matching mobile network. The table below covers major networks across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, including the four markets Telebase serves: the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and France. Data sourced from ITU-T and GSMA public records.

What are MCC and MNC?
The Mobile Country Code (MCC) is a three-digit number assigned by the ITU to identify the country a mobile network operates in. The Mobile Network Code (MNC) is a two or three-digit number that identifies the specific network operator within that country. Together, MCC and MNC uniquely identify a carrier worldwide.
These codes appear inside IMSI numbers (the first five or six digits) and ICCID serial numbers on SIM cards. They are also used in network signalling, roaming agreements and regulatory filings.
How MCC/MNC relates to carrier lookup
When a carrier lookup API returns a carrier name for a phone number, it is resolving the network identity behind that number. The MCC/MNC pair is the underlying standard the industry uses to identify that network. Knowing the MCC/MNC can help you verify that a carrier name in an API response maps to the expected operator, or cross-reference results across different providers.
MCC/MNC quick reference: Telebase markets and the US
Quick reference
- United Kingdom (MCC 234/235): EE (30, 33), Vodafone (15), O2 (10), Three (20).
- Germany (MCC 262): Telekom (01, 06), Vodafone (02), O2/Telefonica (03, 07).
- Netherlands (MCC 204): KPN (08), T-Mobile (16), Vodafone (04).
- France (MCC 208): Orange (01), SFR (10), Bouygues (20), Free Mobile (15).
- United States (MCC 310, 311): Verizon (310 012, 311 480), AT&T (310 030, 310 410), T-Mobile US (310 026, 310 260).
MNC values shown are the principal codes. Some operators hold additional MNC allocations for MVNOs, IoT or legacy networks. Use the search above to find all codes for a given carrier.
Finding the carrier for a specific phone number
An MCC/MNC code identifies a network, not a phone number. A number's prefix shows which operator it was first allocated to, but number portability lets a subscriber keep that number after moving to another operator, so the prefix alone can name the wrong carrier. To find the carrier a number is on now, query the number itself: a lookup takes an E.164 number and returns the carrier, country, number type and active status. The quickstart guide shows a first request end to end.
Using MCC/MNC in fraud and KYC workflows
Fraud and compliance teams use MCC/MNC data to verify that a phone number's carrier matches the expected country and network. A number claiming to be UK mobile but resolving to a carrier in a different country is a signal worth investigating. Combined with number type detection and active status, MCC/MNC cross-referencing adds a layer of confidence to onboarding and transaction checks.
